The 2022-2023 tri-season has well and truly begun with November seeing the Melbourne Ironman 70.3 early in the month and the first race in the 2XU’s series today!  Despite all the heavy rain we have been having lately, the swim went ahead for both events and today gave 4 of our ‘tri a try-ers’ Caitlyn Fry, Harry Cutts, Emily Cronshaw and Rachel Lee the full experience as they completed their first race.  Congratulation to everyone that competed today and at the 70.3 event and we look forward to seeing the rest of the ‘Try a Tri’ crew in their first race in 2 weeks time (Sunday December 11- 2XU Race#2).  From all of us at HTC we hope you have enjoyed your experience and consider joining us for the rest of the season and beyond.

On that note, we hope to see as many HTC members at Race #2 as we will be celebrating the Try-a-Tri’s completion of their program and the start of the tri season, with a BBQ after the race, serving up bacon and egg rolls to all those that participate and to all members that coming down to spectate and support those racing.

As we head towards the end of the year, we will also be holding our annual HTC Christmas Celebration on December 18 from 2pm at Rocket Park.  HTC will be putting on a BBQ with sausages however we also ask that everyone bring a plate to contribute to a good spread of food for us all to share.  This year we will also include the inaugural Christmas Beer / Prosecco Mile to add some extra fun and cheer to the day….so keep that in mind when choosing your foot attire!

In other news, the Summer Swimming Program is well underway with  Rachel running another Swim Stoke Filming and Analysis earlier in the month.  These are proving to be very popular so we will be looking to run another one in the new year.

And finally, a reminder that the club shop closes on the 29th of November, so if you want kit for the upcoming season get your order in ASAP!
