De Castella Run – Sunday 28th August

Choice of 5, 10 or 15k to support mental health. Come along run, volunteer or cheer. HTC tent will be there along  and it’s going to be super!

Amy’s Gran Fondo – 3 weeks to go! – 11th September

Thanks to our fabulous Cycling Co-ordinator Anna Spanna the countdown continues to Amy’s Gran Fondo on September 11. As well as a range of ride options on the day, members of all abilities have the opportunity to join training rides on Kew Boulevard (weekdays) and further into the Hills (weekends). Check the FB page for details.
This weekend there were some last minute changes due to bad weather and some people went out to ride Saturday afternoon and/or Sunday morning… and some stayed indoors zwifting 🙂

Victorian Duathlon Series – Race 3 – 18th September

Caribbean Gardens plays host to the Victorian Duathlon Championships and the finale of the Victorian Duathlon Series. The new location features a looped run course, and very fast criterium cycling course.
Like all events in the Victorian Duathlon Series; kids, sprint and dash distance races feature, with a multiclass category offered for persons with an intellectual disability.

Weekly Training

There are some great events coming up and we would love to see more HTC representation!

* The Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival is on for the 2nd of October, and with 6 weeks to go, make the most of our coached run sessions with the expertise Anthony and JB have to ask for advice and tips on training!

Swim

Swim squad runs Monday and Wednesday 6.30pm to 8pm with Super Coach Rachel.
Swim squad membership $30 every 2 weeks available here
Or pay $10 for an individual pay-as-you-go session
Eskimos out there can join regular Friday morning open water swimmers Meg Suda, Adam Holland, Courtney Comstock Wheeler, Mark Warburton & Kaz Chau. Elwood Beach 7am.
Winter 8 week challenge finished last week – well done all! And now look out for the next swim block planned ahead of the next triathlon season.

Bike

Coached cycling takes place on Thursday mornings at 6.15am at the Hawthorn Velodrome with Coach Mitch. Riders of all abilities are welcome, especially for coffee afterwards.
There will be mid-week Kew Boullie and Saturday rides into the Hills and along Beach Road posted on Facebook each week.

Run

De Castella sessions:
Tuesday 6pm at Xavier College, Kew.
Thursday 6pm at the Tan.
Saturday 8am at the Tan with Brunch afterwards.
